    SPECIAL NEEDS PUPPIES

Hello Pug people another not so cute story.  We got a call from a shelter in Longview Texas that a lady brought in these puppies because they were sick.  That was an understatement.  Both of these guys have scabies and demodex mange.  Jane has a broken leg to boot.  This is not going to be an easy fix and it is going to be a long term project for our volunteers in Longview not to mention the cost factor of medication, surgery, and just routine care that 6 week old puppies need. I know it seems like we are always begging but people we need help with these.  Our club NEVER turns away a Pug in need regardless of age or condition and we are really being tested this year.  Tarzan and Jane are still two happy little Pugs that try to play with each other and yes they have that Pug appetite.  If you can help us with a dollar two that would be great .  If not at least keep these two in your thoughts and we will manage to get them in tip top shape.  Thanks to everyone in advance for your help of cash and thoughts.

  • Chunks

Hello world my name is Chunks and I find myself needing a new home very badly.  I am a senior guy of about ten years old and they have been a hard ten.  I was abandoned in a apartment in Dallas.  When my so called family moved they took everything except me.  The nice lady that lived upstairs heard me crying and took me in for a few weeks.  She said she could not afford me as she already had a dog so DFWPRC was called.  I am currently at the Doc's office getting checked out.  they say I have arthritis in my hips but I can still move around pretty well.  If you think you might have a forever home for me that will allow me to retire I would give back all my love to you.  Please consider this old boy...Seniors truly are the best!!

  • Buddy 2 - Adoption Pending

Hello...My name is Buddy and I am new to the area.  My father and brother & I used to live around Lake Whitney and we were the pride of the lake.  Our owner had some personal problems so a friend of a friend whisked us away and brought us to DFWPRC.  I am one year old, born June 22, 2007.  I am healthy and ready o have a new home.  I realize this means leaving pop and my bother behind but that is life.  I need a patient home that will be willing to keep up the training I had been started on so I can live inside with you and be a good citizen of the human community.  My rescuer said I should not last long so you better hurry.  Ask for me...Buddy 2...you will not regret it.

  • Martin - Adoption Pending

Hello my name is Martin and I am only 6-7 months old and homeless.  I was brought to a local shelter because I was more than they could handle.  I am not surprised as I am one energetic little boy.    DFWPRC was called and I was quickly picked up and taken to see one of their Doc's.  I am very healthy and one good looking guy.  My adoption fee is a mere $300 and worth every penny.  They say I may have been show quality but I was fixed so that does not matter anymore.  I just want a family that will teach me, love me and just be my guys.  Thanks for looking.

  • Albert

Hello out there my name is Albert and I am homeless and cute.  You see I was dumped in the parking lot of an Albertsons grocery store.  I thought well this will be OK lots of food and drink, people, nice cool building.  Well I walked up to the door and wham they opened right up so I again thought this is OK they are opening the door for me.  I proceeded indoors and was happily looking around when suddenly I was nabbed by a couple of guys.  They said dogs can't be here and I was tossed back outside.  I lived in the parking lot for a couple of days eating whatever I could find.  Then one afternoon a nice lady came and took me to the vets office in the same shopping center.  They looked for me a home but nobody wanted me.  Then these nice people(DFWPRC) were called.  When he came to get me he stopped and said he is not a pure Pug and we are not taking mixes.  My heart sank again...NOBODY wants me.  Then the guy said he is too damn cute to send  to Animal control. So here I am...please ask for me and I promise to be a good boy and make you a very proud Pug owner.

  • Aggie

Aggie is about I year old. His mother was a pure bred pug and dad was “something else.” Aggie has been living outside for the past several months and is glad to now be living in air conditioning with pillows! Aggie is a very Velcro dog. He wants to be by you and wants so desperately to love and be loved. He had a couple accidents in the house the first day we had him and since has not had any. He is crate trained and we have all ready been able to teach him sit, and down. He is very bright and will be a quick study. He is 36 lbs. and just a great size. He loves to play and will fetch. He is active but not hyper and will “settle” right away if you ask him. Due to his mixed heritage, Aggie’s adoption fee will be reduced. He will make an awesome pet

  • Lulu Bear

    Lulu Bear

    HELP HELP HELP !!!!!!!!!!!

Over the weekend, we were expecting to pick-up a pug with demodex but
we were not prepared for the shocking and heartbreaking condition this
     baby is in.

Lulu has demodex, a severe skin infection, a staph infection and an ear
infection.  Our vet is erring on the side of caution and she is also
being treated for both Sarcoptic and Demodectic mange.  She has been hospitalized and will
remain there for at least another week.  Demodex is relatively easy to
diagnose, treat, and not costly unless you let it get to this stage.

LuLu is only 4 months old.  Her former owner told us that although she loves LuLu dearly, she could
hardly stand to touch LuLu and that she was feeling sick to her stomach
trying to care for her any longer.  Despite the obvious pain that LuLu is
experiencing she is still a happy pug and very much a puppy.  She
loves treats and craves human attention, sitting sweetly on your foot as you pet her.  She has a very long recovery road
ahead of her and her treatment
will be costly.  If you can help LuLu
and other pugs like her please take a minute to donate.  Every penny
     helps.

  • Roscoe

  • Bucket

Here Yea Here Yea announcing the arrival of Sir Bucket Prince of Ellis County.  This is Bucket.  He is about 6-7 weeks old and he was actually abandoned at the animal shelter.  he was left in a bucket at the front door before they were open for business.  He was dehydrated and hungry but appeared to be OK.  He was rushed to Dr Gumfory where he appeared to be healthy.  Bucket was given his shots and sent to a foster home for observation.  Usually when a puppy is dumped there is something going on but to date he appears normal.  If you are up to raising a puppy then you better hurry as Sir Bucket will not last long.  If you would like to contribute a few dollars to help with his expenses that would be welcomed.  Thanks for looking.
